Plain-language summary
Pensara is an offline flashcards app. Your packs, cards, and study progress live on your device. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no cloud sync, no ads, no analytics, and no crash reporting. AnchorKite never receives your cards or your study history.
The only time Pensara talks to a server is to check or make a purchase: Google Play and our purchase provider confirm it (see §1.3). Everything else works offline.
If you uninstall the app, all of Pensara's data on your device is deleted.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information stored on your device
When you use Pensara, the following data is stored in the app's private storage on your device:
- Packs and cards you create or import
- Study progress, review schedules, streaks, XP, medals, and best scores
- App preferences, such as your daily goal, theme, and reminder time
This data is never transmitted to AnchorKite LLC. Pensara does not sync it to any cloud service, and AnchorKite has no copy of it. If your Android device backup is turned on, Android may include app data in your own Google device backup. That backup is controlled by you and Google, and AnchorKite cannot read it.
1.2 Device permissions
- Notifications. Requested only if you turn on the daily study reminder. Reminders are scheduled on your device, and no server is involved.
Pensara does not use your camera, microphone, contacts, or location.
1.3 Purchases
Some packs are one-time purchases. Payments are processed by Google Play. To confirm your purchases, our purchase provider, RevenueCat, receives:
- A randomly generated, anonymous app-user ID. It is not linked to your name, email, device ID, advertising ID, or any other personally identifying information.
- Purchase data from Google Play: the product you bought, its price, transaction details, and your country.
RevenueCat never receives your cards or study progress. AnchorKite does not receive your payment card details. Details on these providers are in §3.
1.4 Ask an AI
If you use "Ask an AI", Pensara opens your device's share sheet with a prompt you can send to a chat app of your choice. Pensara never contacts an AI service itself. Whatever you send is handled by the app you choose, under that app's own terms and privacy policy.
1.5 Information we do not collect
Pensara does not collect, transmit, or process:
- Accounts, sign-in details, or email addresses
- Your packs, cards, or study history, on AnchorKite or third-party servers
- Analytics or telemetry
- Crash reports or device fingerprints
- Advertising identifiers (no ads, no ad networks)
- Location data, contacts, photos, or microphone audio
2. How information is used
Information stored on your device is used solely to operate the app for you: to show your cards, schedule reviews, and track your progress.
The purchase data described in §1.3 is used solely to determine which packs you own, so the app can unlock them. It is not used for marketing, profiling, or any other purpose.
3. Third-party services
We use a minimal set of third parties, both only for purchases:
- RevenueCat (
revenuecat.com) is our purchase service provider. It receives the anonymous app-user ID and the purchase data described in §1.3, and reports which purchases are active. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Sentry, or any other analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting service in Pensara.
4. Children's privacy
Pensara is not directed at children under 13.
5. Data deletion and your rights
5.1 Local data
Because your data lives on your device, you control it directly. Delete your own packs in the app, or uninstall the app to remove all of Pensara's data from the device.
5.2 Purchase records
To request deletion of the purchase records held by RevenueCat, email legal@anchorkite.com.
5.3 Other rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under privacy laws such as the EU GDPR or California's CCPA, including the right to access, correct, or receive a copy of personal information associated with you. AnchorKite holds no study data, so these rights apply in practice to the purchase records described in §1.3. To exercise them, contact legal@anchorkite.com.
6. Security
Your data is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. It is not separately encrypted by Pensara. Purchase validation (§1.3) is sent over HTTPS, so it is encrypted in transit.
No system is perfectly secure. We make commercially reasonable efforts to protect the data we process.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via the app.
